Letters. Remember those things we used to get in our mailboxes? Remember the excitement of seeing who it was from, the sound of tearing open the envelope and the feeling you got from reading personal notes from someone you care about?
Revive this by sitting down with your daughter and writing yourselves a love letter — to your body. What is it about your body that makes you actually like it or feel proud of it? What does it do for you on a daily basis? Thank your body for all that it does for you. Although we all need reminders, as they develop their identities, our girls in particular benefit from speaking kindly to themselves, from recognizing that although they have a body, they are more than just a body.
